GrowthSpree MCP vs Supermetrics for B2B SaaS Marketing Analytics
First, the question most people arrive with: yes, Supermetrics has an MCP server. It connects Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and n8n to their marketing data, and their own page says MCP access is unlocked with any subscription.
So this is not a comparison between an AI tool and a spreadsheet tool. Both products do the same core thing now. The real difference is what sits underneath each one, and that difference decides which is right for you.
We build one of these two, so read this with that in mind. We have tried to describe Supermetrics from their own documentation rather than from a positioning deck, and there are several situations below where they are the better choice.
Quick answer
Supermetrics is a data platform that added an MCP. GrowthSpree is an MCP without a data platform underneath.
That sentence covers most of it.
| GrowthSpree MCP | Supermetrics MCP | |
|---|---|---|
| Core product | Hosted MCP server | Marketing data platform, with MCP as one access layer |
| Sources on the entry tier | Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Advertising, GA4, Search Console, HubSpot CRM | Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft, GA4, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Pinterest, Snapchat and more |
| Meta Ads | Premium tier | Included |
| Cost to start | Free to start on Basic | Free trial; MCP access with any subscription |
| Warehouse and BI destinations | None | Looker Studio, Google Sheets, BigQuery, Amazon S3, Redshift, Snowflake |
| Dashboards | None | Studio, with AI-built dashboards |
| Stated compliance | Not published | SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, regional hosting |
| Changes your campaigns | No. It recommends, you apply | Campaign management is a separate product |
| Extras | Scheduled audits, Slack bot on Premium | AI agents, AI data transformations |
Key takeaways
- Supermetrics MCP is real and covers far more data sources than we do. If breadth is your requirement, that is the answer.
- Supermetrics publishes SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. If your procurement process requires those, that decides it before anything else.
- We are free to start and take about five minutes to connect, with no data stack to build. If you want an answer this afternoon, that is the difference.
- Neither tool changes your campaigns. Both read data and recommend; you apply the change in the platform.
- The choice is really about whether you need a data platform or just the answers.
What each one actually is
GrowthSpree MCP
One hosted MCP server covering Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Advertising, GA4, Search Console and HubSpot CRM on the Basic tier, which is free to start. Premium adds Meta Ads, a web chat and Slack.
Setup is a work email, a login, connecting your platforms, then pasting a token into your AI client. It works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf and any MCP client.
It does not act on your accounts. It reads data, answers questions and recommends changes that you apply yourself in each platform. Data comes through official platform APIs only.
Supermetrics MCP
Supermetrics has been a marketing data platform for years, moving data into Looker Studio, Google Sheets, BigQuery, Snowflake and similar destinations. The MCP is a newer access layer over that same connector estate.
Their page describes it as giving AI tools direct access to live data, with a single connection covering many platforms and βno separate API integration per platform.β Authentication is OAuth 2.0 per user, with sessions isolated so people see only accounts they are authorised for, and API key access available for server to server workflows.
They also ship AI agents that answer questions with charts and a recommended next step, Studio for AI-built dashboards, and AI data transformations such as sentiment analysis and translation.
Where Supermetrics is the better choice
Worth saying plainly, because the honest version of this comparison is more useful than a sales pitch.
You need more than the paid plus CRM stack. Their connector list runs well beyond ours: TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Shopify, Salesforce. If your reporting spans ecommerce or a wide social estate, we do not cover it and they do.
You need a data warehouse or BI destination. We have none. If your analytics lives in BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or Looker Studio, Supermetrics is built for that and an MCP alone is not a substitute.
Procurement requires published certifications. They list SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 and regional hosting. We do not publish equivalents. In a regulated buyer or a large enterprise, that often ends the conversation before features are discussed.
You want dashboards as well as answers. Chat is good for investigation and bad for the weekly number everyone checks. Their Studio product covers the second job.
You already pay for Supermetrics. MCP access comes with a subscription, so if you own it already, turn it on before you evaluate anything else.
Where we think we fit better
You want answers today without building a data stack. About five minutes, a token, no pipelines, no warehouse. For a team of two or three marketers, a data platform is often more machinery than the question requires.
Your stack is the B2B SaaS one. Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, GA4, Search Console and HubSpot is exactly the Basic tier, which covers the whole working set for most B2B SaaS paid teams.
Budget is a real constraint. Basic is free to start. That matters most for teams who want to test whether conversational analytics changes how they work before committing budget.
You want the paid-performance questions answered specifically. We build for one job, which is B2B SaaS paid acquisition and the pipeline it produces. A broader platform is broader by design.
You want scheduled audits rather than ad hoc questions. We run scheduled audits on Google Ads, with Meta on Premium, delivered by email or Slack.
Choosing between them
| If this is true | Choose |
|---|---|
| You need TikTok, Shopify, Klaviyo, Salesforce or similar | Supermetrics |
| You need data in BigQuery, Snowflake or Looker Studio | Supermetrics |
| Procurement requires SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 | Supermetrics |
| You need dashboards people check weekly | Supermetrics |
| You already have a Supermetrics subscription | Supermetrics, it is included |
| Your stack is Google, LinkedIn, GA4, GSC, HubSpot | GrowthSpree |
| You want it running this afternoon with no data work | GrowthSpree |
| You want to start free | GrowthSpree |
| You want scheduled paid-media audits into Slack or email | GrowthSpree |
| You want both breadth and chat, and have budget | Supermetrics, with us alongside for the paid audits if useful |
A sensible approach for many teams: if you already pay for Supermetrics, switch their MCP on first. If it answers your questions, you are done. If the paid-media questions keep needing more account-specific digging than it gives you, add a focused tool for that.
What neither of them does
Worth being clear, because conversational analytics is often oversold.
- Neither changes your campaigns. Both read data and recommend. You make the change in Google Ads or LinkedIn yourself.
- Neither fixes bad tracking. If your conversions are not importing from your CRM, no MCP can tell you which leads were qualified, because that data does not exist.
- Neither knows your business context. It can tell you paid pipeline fell 18 percent. It cannot know you paused a campaign or that a competitor launched. You supply that in the prompt.
- Neither removes the need for judgement. The output quality depends almost entirely on how specific your question is.
If your underlying measurement is broken, fix that before buying either. An MCP on top of bad data just produces wrong answers faster.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Does Supermetrics have an MCP server?
Yes. Supermetrics MCP connects AI tools including Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and n8n to their marketing data, and their page states that MCP access is unlocked with any subscription. Any comparison claiming Supermetrics is extraction-only is out of date.
Q2. What is the real difference between GrowthSpree MCP and Supermetrics MCP?
What sits underneath. Supermetrics is a mature data platform with a wide connector estate and warehouse destinations, and the MCP is one way to reach it. GrowthSpree is an MCP server with a narrower source list focused on the B2B SaaS paid and CRM stack, and no warehouse layer.
Q3. Which one is cheaper?
GrowthSpree Basic is free to start. Supermetrics includes MCP access with any subscription and offers a free trial, so the cost is whatever their plan costs. If you already subscribe, their MCP costs you nothing extra.
Q4. Which data sources does each cover?
GrowthSpree Basic covers Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Advertising, GA4, Search Console and HubSpot CRM, with Meta Ads on Premium. Supermetrics covers those plus TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Salesforce, Shopify, Klaviyo, Mailchimp and more.
Q5. Can either one change my campaigns?
No. Both read your data and recommend changes that you apply yourself. GrowthSpree states it will not change campaigns, bids or budgets on its own. Supermetrics keeps campaign management as a separate product from the MCP.
Q6. Which works with Claude?
Both. GrowthSpree supports Claude Desktop on free and paid plans, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf and any MCP client. Supermetrics lists Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, n8n and any application built on the MCP standard.
Q7. Which is better for enterprise security requirements?
Supermetrics, on published evidence. They state SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance, regional hosting, and that customer data is not used to train public models. We do not publish equivalent certifications, so if your procurement requires them, that settles it.
Q8. Do I need a data warehouse to use an MCP?
No, and that is much of the appeal. Both connect directly to platform APIs. The warehouse matters when you want historical storage, joins across sources, or BI dashboards, which is where Supermetrics has a layer we do not.
Q9. Can I use both?
Yes, and some teams do. Supermetrics for the broad data estate, warehouse and dashboards, and a focused MCP for the paid-media questions and scheduled audits. They are not mutually exclusive, since both are read-only layers over the same accounts.
Q10. Will an MCP replace my dashboards?
Not entirely. Chat is better for investigating a question you had not anticipated. Dashboards are better for the recurring number a team checks each week. Most teams end up keeping both rather than replacing one with the other.
Q11. Is it safe to connect my marketing data to an AI assistant?
Both use official platform APIs and per-user authorisation, and neither can change your accounts. The real consideration is that your data passes through whichever AI assistant you use, so apply the same judgement you would when pasting data into that tool. Supermetrics publishes more detail on this than we do.
Q12. Which should a small B2B SaaS marketing team pick?
If your stack is Google, LinkedIn, GA4, Search Console and HubSpot and you have no warehouse, start with ours because it is free and quick. If you need broader sources, dashboards or enterprise certifications, Supermetrics is the better fit and we would rather tell you that now than after a trial.
Want to try ours?
Basic is free to start and covers Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Advertising, GA4, Search Console and HubSpot. Setup takes about five minutes. If it turns out you need the breadth or the warehouse layer, we will say so.
